Submitting to search engines can easily be done with little or no cost, however, popular directories, such as JoeAnt.com generally charge for inclusion on their website. So where do you begin and how do you know what is the right one for you? Here are some general guidelines to follow for submitting your website to search engines and directories.
Use a submission software such as the one found at FreeWebSubmission.com. It's easy to use and best of all free. Usually your website will be spidered anyway by the major search portals, however, you can jump start the process by using the submission software. One important note: submitting to search engines/portals does not guarantee inclusion.
I recommend submitting to Google manually. Add your url to Google here. Again, it's a free service.

Keep in mind that just because you submitted to the search engines and were accepted, does not mean your site will place high in rankings and searchability.
